You don’t have the corner office and wish you had one but it’s not going to change any time soon. Your office/workspace faces a wall or some other un-sightly view that you wish you could look at anything else, so what do you do? Change your office view.
A few challenges and ways to over come them:
Your office desk faces a wall or some other un-sightly view that you wish you could look at anything else, so what do you do?
Change your view with colorful bulletin boards hung up in front of your desk. Use them to keep track of your memos, schedule or to-dos or pin up photos of family, pets and vacations. Its decorative and functional but most importantly it changes your otherwise boring office view in front of your work table.
You’re in a cubicle so you’re staring at gray all day.
Fortunately for you there are some really fun solutions to really gray walls. All of them are temporary and don’t damage the cubicles themselves so when you’re on to your next job, you can take it with you. Try removable contact paper, tempaper and now there is even cubicle paper. Love blue? Then this post on infusing blue into your workspace will help you defeat the grayness of your workspace.
You have a window but it faces a wall, literally.
Having a window that faces a wall is worse than having a windowless office in my opinion. A great solution to a viewless window is a clear sheet of decorative window wallpaper. It’ll add a nice punch of design and still allow light in at the same time. Rather than have you feeling trapped, you won’t even know that your window faces bricks.
No matter what you do to change your office/workspace view, be sure it doesn’t have any permanent damage and that you’ve run it through your supervisor first. Most view updates are office friendly but you don’t want to run into any trouble!
