Hunting Season

Grown out of your home office? Or perhaps just past your kitchen table? How do you know when it's time to start looking for an office?

Office of Elevator Up

One. You've run out of room.

You can no longer convince yourself that it's ok to be using your coffee table as the dining room because your dining table is a constant workforce set-up of files, papers and cords. Now might be a good time to dip your toes in the shared office spaces. Coworking is catching on and with a beautiful set up and awesome Turnstone Furniture - The Factory in Grand Rapids, Mi is a great place to start. Work Cottage is another great place to check out with great space and furniture.

Two. You take on employees.

Such an exciting and monumental time for a business that starts out as contracting and builds to a team of smart people, solving problems together. When your basement (or the possible family upstairs, hello children!) can no longer give you the adequate space and time needed to be productive in your home office, it's time to search for a permanent address outside of your own.

Three. Growth happens.

One of the most rewarding reasons to think about hunting for new or more office space is growth. Congratulations! But take it easy, don't bite off more than you can chew. Which brings up ...

Four. Downsizing.

Downsizing office space is a great money saver. It can affect your employee's transit into work (for better or worse) and your time away from home, again better or worse. Most importantly for small companies downsizing affects the overhead positively. Steps taken in the right direction while downsizing can soon create the best kind of problems ... running out room all over again. How do you know to "keep your eyes open" for the next opportunity? Are you a commercial owner in Real Estate? Do you want to be? When you think of the longevity of your office - is a Deed important to you?
