Scratch and sniff wallpaper? Yes Please! Any office that wants to challenge the typical workspaces is sure to turn out as amazing as the offices of Safari Sundays. When I came across photos of their office I emailed them immediately because I wanted to know, what was behind the creative and colorful design? Here’s an inside look and an interview that gives us a peek into what went on behind the scenes and why.

Describe your office space to us

We’ve created an eclectic environment that is playful and energetic. We focused on color and smell to awaken the senses and stimulate all of us on a daily basis. Our space is always evolving and there are always little discoveries, from the scratch and sniff wall paper to the fake video cameras in the bathrooms.

Where did the inspiration for your office space design come from?

I wanted to challenge the conventions of the typical workspace and took influence from the things I find fascinating in my personal life and create a home like environment that is comfortable and fun to hang out in.

What is your favorite part/design of your office space and why?

I love chandeliers, always have and will always use them in all of my spaces. They are such a contradiction to modern day living and so opulent and grand in a world of modern clean design.

Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you and your employees work?

The different communal areas encourage interaction and collaboration and the lay back atmosphere makes people feel as though they aren’t at work.

If you could use one word to describe the feel of the office space, what would it be?

Eclectic

Safari Sundays is a creative design agency that develops brands, delivers packaging solutions and creates a visual language for companies. We are based in Soho in New York and work with global clients and deploy our work across the world. Our work environment is an extension of who we are, what we stand for and sets the tone of what it is like to work with us.
