Furniture care guidelines.
Turnstone Seating Products.
Basic maintenance should be done on chair upholstery, finishes, controls, base, and other moving parts once a year. Maintenance should be done more frequently if the chair is subjected to heavy use.
Cleaning painted, plastic, and vinyl and chrome surfaces.
Clean frequently by applying a household cleaner (such as Fantastik® or 409®) and wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth. For stubborn chrome marks, use a non-abrasive chrome cleaner. On high-gloss, smooth plastic finishes (such as the Player™ chair frame), use a light rubbing compound (such as Turtlewax® rubbing compound) to erase minor surface marks.
Cleaning wood finishes.
Steelcase wood products are protected by a stain-resisting finish. For normal cleaning, wipe surface with a soft, damp (not wet) cloth.
Maintaining fabric upholstery.
Use a vacuum cleaner for regular cleaning. Do not steam clean. Periodic professional dry cleaning is recommended.
Removing fabric upholstery stains or heavy soil.
Soak up excess any stain with a cloth. Do not dry the stain completely or it may set. For most water-borne stains (coffee, fruit juice, washable ink), use an upholstery cleaning solution (such as BISSELL Upholstery Shampoo® or Guardsman Fabri-Kleen®) and follow package directions. For oil-borne stains, use a dry-cleaning solution at room temperature (never hot) and allow solution to work into stain. Using quick, light strokes, brush stain with a soft bristle brush. Work from outside toward the center to prevent rings. Avoid vigorous rubbing which may damage the nap or force the stain more deeply into the material. Soak up remaining dry-cleaning solution and sponge the fabric with cool water. Allow fabric to dry completely, then vacuum thoroughly. If stain is still evident, repeat procedure. Several light applications of cleaning solution are more effective/less damaging than one heavy application.
Maintaining leather upholstery.
Dust occasionally with a clean, dry cloth. Remove most stains by applying a mild soap to a damp cloth, working up thin suds, then rubbing it gently over the stain. Rinse with a clean damp cloth then wipe dry. Never use furniture polishes, oils, varnishes or ammonia on leather. Some cleaning products may cause discoloration and should be tested in an inconspicuous area before using.

Bivi Integrated Power.
Bivi was designed with the power needs of the user in mind. The development team wanted to make buying power was simple and easy to understand, install, and use. The power strips are designed to be integrated into the desk so that the user is able to seamlessly access power without getting under the desk or climbing over things. Below are a series of questions to assist when thinking through power:
Where can the electrical strips be placed?
There are four main areas that the electrical strips can be installed.
- There are two locations in the center of the “cable trough”. Access to these areas is available to workers on either side of the bench, allowing them to easily plug and unplug cords. They are also able to place their blocks and wires down into the trough to be neatly stored away from the worksurface.
- The other two areas are located on the side of the cable trough. There is one knock-out on each side of the trough. After the knock out is removed, the strips can be installed so each user can have their own power strip. The worksurface is designed so that the strip can be accessed from above the worksurface. If you have a tray, there is an additional knock-out in the tray that allows access to the power strip.
How many power packs do I need to buy?
This is based on individual power usage and how many outlets are required (2 outlets? 8 outlets?). Bivi is able to accommodate the many different needs and types of workers. Each “strip” contains four outlets. We offer a 2-pack which contains 2 strips (or 8 outlets) and a 4-pack which contains 4 strips (16 outlets). Use the chart below to help determine your needs.
- On the left hand column (green), find the number of users.
- Move across the purple section to determine the number of outlets each person would use.
- Once you determine the number of outlets, look to the right two columns (brown) and find out how many power packs are needed.
| How many people are you trying to solve for? | How many outlets could people use? |

What is the length of the cord?
The length of the cord to the power source is 10 feet long.
What is the length of the cord from strip to strip?
Between each strip, there is 5 feet of cord length.
What if I spill water or liquid on power strip?
The Byrne power strips are waterproof so there is no need to worry about spilling liquid or having a cup on your desk.
How do I connect the strips together?
Each strip is labeled Power Strip 1, 2, 3, or 4. Power strip 1 will have a 10 foot power cord that will go into the power outlet. Power Strip 1 will connect to Power Strip 2 (Red to Red). Power Strip 2 will connect to Power Strip 3 (Orange to Orange). Power Strip 3 will connect to Power Strip 4 (Green to Green). Power Strip 4 is the end of the run and does not have a cord to plug in additional strips.
Can I connect a 2-pack to a 4-pack or connect two 4-packs together?
No. The power strips will not allow for this to happen as it is a potential power failure and hazard. If you order 2 of the 4-packs, you will have two individual plugs that need to plug into a power source.
Are there any recommendations or layouts that would show me where I can place my power strips?
We recommend that you use the center trough as the main area for placing your power strips. Those areas are located in the center of the cable trough. There are also many different areas that power can be placed, especially when using the bench.
Where do I find out more about the actual power strips?
