Not everybody needs a big office. But even if a small office space works best for your company, there can still be some design challenges that come along with working in a small space, such as storage. Small spaces can easily get overwhelmed with clutter, but there’s also less space to store things. But small office storage isn’t impossible and we have a few ideas to help keep your space in order.

Cover and Conceal

When you’re dealing with storage for a small space, there’s one tip you’ll inevitably hear over and over again: get rid of clutter by getting rid of things you don’t really need. While this may be a helpful starting point, what can you do when you’re left with the bare essentials? Every company has certain things that are essential to business operations, but in a small office, even those necessities can make a space feel cluttered.

If you have to keep it, conceal it. Look for storage solutions that include doors and panels to help hide things like spare computer components, cables, dry erase markers, personal items, and other office essentials. Bassline Storage can be customized with a wide range of panel and door options so that you can have a stylish way to keep clutter out of sight.

Maximize Vertical Space

If you have a limited amount of floor space to work with, one of the best ways to maximize storage is by utilizing vertical space. What are some ways you could work upwards to add storage? Wall-mounted storage is a very popular choice, but you can also add onto desks to maximize the space surrounding them. Bivi Desks can be customized with many different accessories to add storage. Bivi Side Storage, Bivi Hooks, Bivi Holders, and Bivi Board Racks can all be used to create extra storage without taking up a single inch of space on the floor.

As you look for ways to maximize your vertical space, don’t forget to look downward as well. Are there any ways to sneak extra storage in underneath other spaces? For example, Campfire Mobile Cabinets fit perfectly underneath standing-height Campfire Big Tables while Bivi Bottom Shelves are another option for Bivi Desks, perfect for bag storage or elevating CPUs off the floor.

Multi-Tasking Furniture

When you work in an office where space is at a premium, multi-tasking furniture is a great idea. Look for pieces that can add storage while serving another purpose at the same time. Bassline Box Top Tables are a wonderful option for small offices since they combine storage and worksurfaces. If you’re able to add a table to a space, you can add some extra storage.
